Eight-Man Mapua Stuns Slumping Lyceum

By Dugout Philippines

Undermanned Mapua put a dent on Lyceum's Final Four hopes after hacking out a 76-65 NCAA win at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan City.

Playing with only eight men, the Cardinals pulled away for good in the fourth quarter as C.J. Isit nailed back-to-back triples that put them up by ten points, 65-55, and never looked back.

Isit and Leo Gabo each scored 17 points to lead Mapua, who won back-to-back games for the first time since 2012.

Guy Mbida led Lyceum, which further slipped from the Final Four race with its fourth straight loss, with 13 markers.
