ROS takes 2-1 finals lead after rout of TNT

By Ivan Saldajeno

QUEZON CITY--With 5:07 left in the third quarter of Game 3 of the PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals, Talk 'n Text's Ivan Johnson accidentally elbowed Rain Or Shine's Paul Lee in one play, leading to the latter leaving the court after getting a loose tooth.

ROS, leading by a big margin that time, held on to the win without him.

The Elasto Painters took the third game of the best-of-seven championship series against the Tropang Texters with a 109-97 win on Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Rain Or Shine led, 69-53, when Lee got to the wrong end of a Johnson elbow. Lee lost a tooth while having three others stuck to the gums.

Talk 'n Text then launched a mini-rally to cut the lead to just 11, 73-62, but Rain Or Shine made its own run and stretched the lead to as high as 22 and never looked back.

Wayne Chism led the Elasto Painters, who led from the start, with 32 points, 15, rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks.
Lee returned with four minutes left in the game and still finished with 17 points, three rebounds, five assists, and a steal.

Johnson finally got a better outing in the finals as he scored 30 points, 14 rebounds, and three assists for the Tropang Texters.
