QUEZON CITY--Phoenix claimed the last seat to the PBA Governors' Cup quarterfinals after beating Rain Or Shine, 105-94, in their knockout playoff at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday night.

The Fuel Masters held off a late Elasto Painters run to officially complete the eight-club field in the knockout stages.

Phoenix held an 85-67 lead late in the third quarter, but ROS went on a 16-2 run that spanned to the fourth quarter to cut the lead to just four, 87-83.

The E-Painters kept in step with the Fuel Masters until the latter unleashed an 8-2 rally to rebuild the double-digit spread to secure their fate.

Eugene Phelps led Phoenix, which will face TNT on Saturday in its first playoff match since buying the Barako Bull franchise, with 40 points, 14 rebounds, six assists, two blocks, and one steal, while Josh Urbiztondo added 23 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals off the bench.

Josh Dollard had 20 markers, seven caroms, and one dime for ROS, whose season came to an abrupt end following its successful Commissioner's Cup title conquest.
