BALIUAG -- Alab Pilipinas caught fire in the second half to register their first win of the ASEAN Basketball League season, keeping Taiwan's Kaohsiung Truth winless in a battle of newcomers, 91-82 at the jam-packed Star Arena in Bulacan tonight.

With a full line-up in display, Ray-ray Parks and Lawrence Domingo proved too much for the Taiwanese outfit, combining for 51 points with the two-time UAAP MVP leading the way for Coach Mac Cuan with a monster line of 30 points of 7/13 from the field and four triples to go along with 7 boards, 4 dimes,  3 steals and 2 blocks.

With Parks wreaking havoc from outside, Domingo brought the pain from inside the paint, scoring his 21 points on a 75% clip from the field, to go along with four rebounds and three assists, as the home side recovered from their opening loss to Singapore with a comprehensive win.

Daniel Sandrin had a decent debut since arriving last Tuesday, chipping in 8 points, five rebounds and a block in his line for Alab, with his jumper gave them the biggest lead at 11, 88-77 with 2:55 left in the game

Alab gave fellow ABL debutant Mikee Reyes a rude welcome, despite the former UP stalwart notching 14 points, as Kaohsiung's bench only contribute for just eight markers with the usual trio of Wesley Hsu, Cedric Oliver and Derek Hall combined for 58 points in a losing effort for the third straight defeat in as many games.

Both teams are scheduled to play again next Sunday in Paranañaque.
