Angela Lee battles Huang in title defense

By Ivan Saldajeno

PUERTO PRINCESA--After almost a year, the reigning One women's champion returns.

Angela Lee will finally stake her belt after staying off the cage for a while against Jenny Huang in the main event of One: Warrior Kingdom at the Impact Arena in Bangkok on March 11 as announced on Wednesday.

The Singapore-based Korean-Canadian fighter, who became the inaugural champion of the said promotion at the distaff side after beating Mei Yamaguchi on May 6, will snap what would be a 10-month layoff with her long-awaited first title defense against the Taiwanese sensation, who silenced the raucous Mall of Asia Arena crowd in Pasay last month after stunning April Osenio.

“I am so excited for my first title defense!” said Lee.

About her opponent, she continued, “I've been watching Jenny and have seen her last few fights. I think that this is going to be a great fight and it will be exciting for the fans to see how our styles match up.”

The full fight card will be released at a later date.
