MANILA -- UST cap off the first quarter of the PFF Women's league with a bounce-back beatdown of TYFA, 8-1, earlier tonight at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Skipper and striker Charisa Lemoran pulled away once again in the Golden Boot race with a hat-trick, hiking her season's tally to 12 goals before the league goes on a UAAP break in which the España-based school will host in two weeks, and in the process maintaining their hold at fifth spot in the table on a superior goal difference of +18 compared to Ateneo's +3.

It took only the Tigresses of coach Aging Rubio just four minutes to make its mark in the game, with eir pressing game force Marielle Sutacio to put the ball in its own net for the second game running, with Lemoran fired her first of her three goals two minutes later.

Neriza Cuaresma (25'), Hazel Lustan (32') and Christelle Cleofe (45') added more misery to the ladies in blue as they virtually put the match in the bag with a 5-0 halftime lead.

Lemoran continued to pound the nets at the restart, with strikes at the 54th and in the 70th minute gave her the hat-trick while Eom Yehee added another one in the 84th minute.

However Nicole Ramors gave something to cheer for TYFA right before full time, as she beats the UST offside trap to spoil Nicole Reyes' clean sheet with a neatly placed effort.

However, Rubio admits that they still have concerns heading into to the UAAP despite nabbing the win. "Ayun malaki pa rin problema namin. We scored a lot, pero yung play na kelangan namin ipakita or mangyari sa game di pa rin nagyayari. May mga improvements ang mga individual players pero as a team, same problem: yung pag-polish ng play namin di pa rin namin nagagawa," she said.

In spite of another monster performance in front of goal, Lemoran hopes that she will be more efficient come the UAAP in which the school will host.

"Medyo frustrated din," Lemoran said, adding that she had many more opportunities that were thwarted by the opposing defence.

When asked about team's readiness on their opener against FEU, she replied, "Siguro medyo may kulang pa po kami. Minsan sa training namin ngayon maganda ang performance, pagkabukas hindi na naman. Parang di kami consistent. Pero itatry namin dahil may two weeks pa."
