MANILA—Phoenix began its buildup for the PBA Commissioner's Cup by taking RJ Jazul and Joseph Eriobu after separate trades approved by Commissioner Chito Narvasa on Monday.

The Fuel Masters got Jazul from the Alaska Aces for Simon Enciso.

On the other hand, Eriobu was shipped to the Fuel Masters from the Mahindra Floodbusters for Prince Caperal.

Jazul is expected to bring veteran smarts to the young Phoenix core aside from having a reunion with another former Ace in Cyrus Baguio.

Eriobu, on the other hand, is a good addition to the wing rotation of the Fuel Masters, who came close to the second seed in the quarterfinals before settling for the sixth seed only to be eliminated by the third-seeded Star Hotshots in the next round.

Meanwhile, Alaska got a huge boost in its point guard rotation with the arrival of Enciso, who became a revelation at the Phoenix side.

Caperal's arrival at Mahindra will mean Coach Chris Gavina has another center to utilize while Russel Escoto is recovering from a knee injury.
