MANILA -- Showing their title credentials, razor-sharp La Salle slaughtered UST to go on top of the UAAP table Saturday evening at then Rizal Memorial Stadium..

Running like a mean green machine from the opening whistle, the Lady Archers showed no mercy on the Tigresses to zoom ahead of Ateneo in the league on superior goal difference, with Sara Castañeda, Nicole Andaya and Kyra Dimaandal bagged a brace for Hans-Peter Smit in a 6-2 thrashing.

Both sides entertained their supporters for the entire match, with their free-flowing, all-out attacking football produced a combined 37 total shots, forcing Nicole Reyes and Inna Palacios to work their mitts as they have to save a total of 15 shots between the two custodians.

However, the on-target Lady Archers got in to the groove early on in the match, and wasted virtually no time for the Taft booters who jumped ahead in just 13 minutes with Castañeda converting her spot kick after Thea Sumilang handled the ball inside the box.

But what killed the UST in the match was the four-minute-blitz at the half-hour mark, with two goals in that span by Dimaandal and Andaya ended any hope of a growling comeback for the España side to put La Salle home and hosed at the break, 3-0.

But the fighting Tigresses showed in the early part of the second half, with Charisa Lemoran wrecked Palacios' drive for a clean sheet with a sneaky free kick two minutes at the restart for the first of her consolatory brace.

However, La Salle formally bagged the three points with another blitz of two goals, with Andaya bagging her brace with her strike in the 52nd minute, before Castañeda following suit two minutes later.

Lemoran then got her brace in the 76th minute after beating Palacios once again in a 1v1 before Dimaandal completed her brace in a rebound tap-in deep into stoppage time.
