MANILA--Guess who's leading the Rookie of the Year race.

Phoenix's Matt Wright leads the rookies in the stats race after the semifinals of the PBA Philippine Cup.

The six-foot-four guard ranked first overall among the freshmen and seventh overall with 30.5 SP's.

The former NBA Draft applicant and Malaysia Dragon leads the rookies in scoring (18.5 points per game) and assists (3.3 assists per game), while he is second in rebounds (6.8 boards a game) and steals (1.3 steals per game), both just behind Blackwater's Mac Belo, who appeared to be making headway at the beginning of the conference.

Belo's late struggles pulled him down to second with 27.7 SP's, although he still managed to put up decent stats of 14.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.4 block a night.

Star's Jio Jalalon (21.2 SP's) barely edged out TNT's RR Pogoy (20.5), who had a late surge, for third place.

Ginebra's Kevin Ferrer round up the top five rookies with 16.1 SP's

Nine freshmen from the Gilas Cadets made it to the Top 10 with Wright's fellow Fuel Master Gelo Alolino the only player from the regular draft that made the rookie rankings at eighth among the newcomers and 81st overall with 14 SP's.
