Mineski signs Mushi as skipper as huge DOTA quintet shakeup unfolds

By Ivan Saldajeno

MANILA--Mineski, one of the Philippines' top e-sports squads, will get some more international flavor as the club announced a major shakeup to its DOTA 2 team.

On Monday night, Mineski revealed the signing of Malaysian e-sports star Chai Yee Fung through a statement.

“I’m greatly honored to become the team captain for Mineski DotA,” said Chai, also known by the in-game name Mushi.

“Mushi was the first player that came into my mind when I saw the news about him leaving Fnatic team. With Mushi’s experience and his versatility as a player, his addition to the Mineski DOTA team will definitely bring positive impact and exciting benefits,” said Mineski Malaysia CEO Yap Chee Loong, who will now act as team manager

Chai will take over Ryan Qui as the captain of the quintet.

Qui's squad, that also had fellow Filipinos RR Penano and Julz De Leon and foreign recruits Galvin Kang and Michael Ross, was released following Mineski's heartbreaking end to its quest for a spot in the Kiev Major, losing to eventual Southeast Asian representatives Faceless and TNC in the SEA qualifier finals last week.

Chai and Yap will team up in completing the quintet that will compete in international tournaments later this year.

The new lineup will be released as soon as Chai finally bring the squad together.
