PASAY--Rain Or Shine will begin its PBA Commissioner's Cup title defense against two familiar faces.
No less than former coach Yeng Guiao and former import Wayne Chism will be among the Elasto Painters' first opponents in the mid-season conference as they will face the NLEX Road Warriors right in Day 1 of the tournament on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Game time is at 7 p.m., right after the 4:15 p.m. tip-off between Meralco and Mahindra.
NLEX looks to start its drive for redemption following a dismal 2-9 finish in the Philippine Cup, the worst single-conference record by Guiao in his entire career.
But the team will have to deal no less than defending champion ROS, who also looks to bounce back from a lethargic finale to its campaign in the previous conference that saw the squad slip from potentially the twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals to the twice-to-beat disadvantage, leading to its early elimination.
