San Beda holds off Kamaka Hepa's explosion in win over FilAm Sports

MANILA--San Beda survived a dominating performance from Kamaka Hepa and beat FilAm Sports, 80-76, in their NBTC National Finals tie at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay on Tuesday.

The Taytay dribblers shut down their American-based foes in the fourth quarter, limiting them to only 14 points, to steal the win, their second in as many games.

Peter Alfaro led San Beda with 16 points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal, while Josh Tagala added 13 points, two rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

Hepa sizzled in his NBTC debut, tallying 27 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, seven blocks, and one steal for FilAm Sports, but he also turned the ball over nine times.

In Division 2 action, La Salle-Lipa pummeled Langatian High, 88-24.

La Salle-Lipa played good defense on Langatian High in the first quarter, limiting the latter to only 13 points.

But La Salle-Lipa turned its defensive intensity notches higher in the final half-hour, limiting Langatian High to only 11 points the rest of the way.

Riley Javier paced La Salle-Lipa, which forced Langatian High to 42 turnovers, with 17 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
