MANILA--Star did not get intimidated by Terrence Romeo's return as the team added to GlobalPort's early PBA Commissioner's Cup woes with a 103-77 rout at the Mindanao Civic Center in Tubod on Saturday night.

Following a slow start, the Hotshots turned up the heat in the final three quarters, scoring at least 30 in each of the second and the third periods while limiting the Batang Pier to only 12 points in the payoff period to go 2-0 in the conference.

Tony Mitchell tallied 22 points, 17 rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and one steal, while Jio Jalalon added 15 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals for Star.

Sean Williams led GlobalPort, which fell to 0-2, with 20 points, 14 rebounds, one assist, and three blocks.

In his first game back after suffering typhoid fever that sidelined him in the Batang Pier's Commissioner's Cup debut against the Alaska Aces last week, Romeo tallied 13 points, seven rebounds, eight assists, and one steal, but apparently reeling from the said sickness, he only made 5-of-18 baskets and committed seven turnovers.
