SAN JUAN, MM—The PBA D-League Aspirants Cup may not be over yet, but some new kids on the block are set to roar in the next conference, the Foundation Cup.
Flying V signified its intention on joining the second-seeded cagefest by launching its club, the Thunder, on Thursday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
"I am excited to coach the Flying V Thunder in the D-League this coming conference," said Eric Altamirano, who will be the team's gaffer." "I deem it an honor to be the head coach of this first-rate franchise."
The two-time PBA and one-time UAAP champion coach will be assisted by his son Anton and veteran mentors Joey Guanio and Vic Ycasiano.
The said announcement came in time for Flying V's 20th anniversary.
According to Altamirano, the roster will be revealed before the start of the Foundation Cup in May.
