Seventy teams sign up for UA 3x3 Cebu tourney

MANILA—Seventy quartets of young basketball players from Cebu will slug it out in the Cebu leg of the Under Armour 3x3 Southeast Asia series on Sunday.

The said teams will vie for spots in the Taguig leg on April 28-30, where the champions will get a chance to become part of the Philippine lineup that will compete in the FIBA Asia U18 3x3 Cup in Malaysia next on May 26-28. The SBP will handle the selection process.

Aside from taking care of the airfare and hotel costs, UA will also shoulder half of the eventual UA 3x3 national finals winners' registration fee for the FIBA Asia U18 3x3 Cup.

Meanwhile, the young at hearts will also get a chance to play 3x3 basketball as an open category was created.

The champions in the men's and women's divisions will take home medals and cash.
