BIÑAN -- Meralco Manila recorded the first win of the PFL season after notching a 5-1 thrashing away at Stallion Laguna on Saturday.

Clocking at nine minutes, Curt Dizon registered the league's first-ever goal as the Sparks avenged their preseason Invitational Cup loss to the home side, unleashing their true form right off the bat.

Ryota Ishikawa equalized for the home side at the half-hour mark but that was all Ernest Nierras and his side can muster, as Tahj Minniecon duly shoved the visitors ahead for good six minutes after that.

New acquisition Milan Nikolic duly sealed all three points with a header off a free kick just two minutes after the restart, and both Younghusband brothers garnered a goal each later to give Aris Caslib a return to managerial duties almost 8 years since he was on the touchline.

Skipper James fired a rocket from way outside to make it 4-1 in the 58th minute, and Phil's tap-in a minute before full time became the icing on the cake.
