Eustaquio beats Bunrad in much-awaited rematch; Angela Lee, Askren stay as champs

LOS BAÑOS—Same fighters, similar outcome, different winner.

Geje Eustaquio got the better of the split decision in their rematch against Anatpong Bunrad at One: Dynasty of Heroes at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday night.

Two years after ending up at the wrong side of the split decision, Eustaquio got the nod of two of the three judges this time as his polished striking game was enough to hold off Bunrad.

Meanwhile, both Angela Lee and Ben Askren remained champions after scoring submission wins.

In the co-main event, Askren put an end to Agilan Thani's unbeaten run through an arm triangle choke at the 2:20 mark of Round 1 to retain his One welterweight belt. Askren's own perfect record remained intact.

Askren, however, hinted at possibly moving up one weight division after calling out reigning One middleweight champ Vitaly Bigdash.

Lee, meanwhile, also stayed unbeaten and with the One women's title after forcing Istela Nunes to tap out in the headliner.

Nunes showed toughness in Round 1, getting loose of Lee's twister hold, but the latter showed she has a lot of submission arsenals on her sleeves after going for the anaconda choke on the former that eventually forced her to concede at the 2:18 mark of Round 2.

Meanwhile, in a huge upset, Boracay-based Swedish fighter Zebaztian Kadestam stunned former Askren challenger Luis Santos.

Kadestam rocked Santos, who appeared to be winning early on, with a couple of knees that knocked the latter out with 2:42 left in their match to complete a successful entry to One Championship.
