MANILA--The TNT KaTropa emerged victorious against the mighty San Miguel Beermen this Friday evening at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, 112-103.
The Beermen made something right this game by having just a few turnovers but they also made a bad mistake as their reinforcement Charles Rhodes talked trash to the opponent's import Donte Greene, who later erupted and brought his "A-Game", finishing with 41 markers.
Greene and Rhodes had a perfect matchup. The two bigs exchanged buckets and played well in both ends until TNT made a run and eventually sealed a win.
“Those are two really good imports. Pinakita nila tonight the stuff that they have,” said Racela.
Mainstay Larry Fonacier also came big for the KaTropa with 14 points.
The Beermen once had a 14-point deficit, but they climbed their way back and reduced it to two before Larry Fonacier and Greene nailed their coffins.
Fonacier dropped two important treys late in the game to extend their lead to nine with less than a minute left.
The Junemar Fajardo-less SMB squad was led by Rhodes putting 43 points, eight boards and two assists.
