By Ivan Saldajeno

SAN JUAN, MM--UST finally entered the win column in the FilOil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup after drubbing Perpetual Help, 63-55, at the FilOil Flying V Centre on Sunday.

After a low-scoring first half, the Growling Tigers sustained their defensive form in the third, limiting the Altas to only seven points en route to taking the lead that they held on until the end.

Steve Akomo led UST, which snapped a three-game skid, with 11 points, 18 rebounds, one block, and one steal, somehow making up for a nine-turnover showing.

Gab Dagangon tallied 11 markers, six boards, and one assist for Perpetual Help, which fell to 1-2.
