MANILA--Two veteran teams collide on Monday as Tanduay and Marinerong Pilipino part ways when the 2017 PBA D-League Foundation Cup continues at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

With both sides coming off their first wins of the conference, stringing a winning streak early will be integral if they want to position themselves at the top half of the field.

The Rhum Masters are coming off a 13-day layoff after posting a 75-60 triumph over Centro Escolar University last June 6, and coach Lawrence Chongson is hopeful that the dominant victory will turn things around early for his squad.

“I retained 11 players from last conference and ang nilalaban ko lang naman dito is yung familiarity and chemistry ng mga players ko,” he said.

Lester Alvarez, Jerwin Gaco, and Adrian Santos will be counted upon anew to lead the charge for Tanduay.

Meanwhile, coach Koy Banal will be banking on the Skippers’ huge 66-65 upset win over Cignal HD as he leans on the extensive preparation his side had going into this tiff.

“We gave the players ample time to rest and we’re making sure that we’re well prepared for Tanduay. But again, we’re not focusing on our opponent but rather, on ourselves,” he said.

Mark Isip, Achie Iñigo, and Julian Sargent will banner Marinerong Pilipino in the duel.

Game time is at 2 p.m., following the 12 p.m. tip-off between cellar-dwellers AMA Online Education (0-2) and Zark’s Burger (0-3).
