MANILA—The sickness bug struck on Jeron Teng in his first game back from the FIBA 3x3 World Cup.

But the six-foot-two winger did not fold and delivered for Flying V when it mattered the most.

Despite feeling the flu, Teng sizzled in the clutch to help the Thunder preserve an 83-78 win over the Marinerong Pilipino Skippers in their PBA D-League Foundation Cup match at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig on Monday night.

Teng scored eight of Flying V's last nine points that helped the team sustain a comeback from 18 points down to stay unbeaten in the conference at 4-0.

“Jeron showed how professional he is,” said Coach Eric Altamirano. “Nabuhayan kami nung pumasok siya and I’m really proud with how he took it upon himself and forced himself to play. He knew how important this game was.”

Teng finished with 15 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while Eric Salamat topped all Thunder scorers with 20 points on 6-of-11 shooting from long range alongside six assists.

Hans Thiele provided the inside help and chipped in 15 markers and 15 boards.

Gab Banal tallied 12 points and four rebounds for Flying V in a rare showdown against his uncle Koy and dad Joel, who are leading Marinero's charge.

Julian Sargent tallied 14 points for the Skippers, who fell to 1-3.
