Wang's beats Racal in major D-League surprise

MANILA—Wang's pulled off the biggest upset so far in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup, stunning Racal, 93-84, at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig on Monday.

Michole Sorela took over for the Couriers in the fourth quarter, sparking a crucial charge leading to their breakaway.

“Big fish yung tinalo namin, pero sa pagsisikap at team effort, nakuha namin yung panalo,” said Coach Pablo Lucas.

Sorela finished with 13 points, 10 coming in the fourth, while Chris Bitoon top scored with 22 points, 13 in the second half, along with four rebounds, three assists, and five steals for Wang's, which won its second straight game and moved up to 3-2, tying its victim.

Robbie Herndon contributed a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds for Wang's.

Marlon Gomez tallied 15 markers and six caroms for Racal, which lost for the second straight time.
