Kevin Alas named Player of the Week for Govs' Cup Week 1

MANILA—Kevin Alas became the first player to receive the Accel-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week for the Governors' Cup after rising to the occasion in NLEX's hot start.

Alas drilled in 20 points, eight rebounds, and four assists on Wednesday night as the Road Warriors added woes to the Alaska Aces' slump that dates back to the Commissioner's Cup.

Three days later, he delivered some crucial baskets that kept the Kia Picanto at bay en route to the 2-0 start.

Alas edged a fellow ex-Letran player, Phoenix's RJ Jazul, Meralco's Chris Newsome, Rain or Shine's Maverick Ahanmisi, and Star's PJ Simon for the said citation.
