F2 Logistics forces winner-take-all for 2017 PSL Grand Prix crown

By JP Abcede

MANILA--The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers had to come back from a 1-2 set deficit and a 0-9 hole on the fourth frame to remain in the hunt for the 2017 Philippine SuperLiga Grand Prix championship, as they beat the Petron Blaze Spikers in five nail-biting sets, 25-20, 24-26, 14-25, 25-19, 15-4, on the second match of the finals series held at the FilOil-Flying V Arena in San Juan City.

With their backs on the wall, the Cargo Movers crawled back from nine points down to take the upper hand for good at 17-16 from a Kennedy Bryan conversion. Cha Cruz, who started the match from the bench, then made sure their would be a deciding fifth set as her two-handed push sailed past the Petron backline defenders and towards the corner of area one.

Momentum on its side, F2 Logistics then broke away, 10-3 with a Cruz attack. Five straight points from the yellow and red side closed out the match.

The final match of the season will take place on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
