MANILA--Gilas Pilipinas will have both its contingents in action for the main draw of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup after the women's team breezed through the qualifying draw.

The Gilas cage belles completed a sweep of the qualifying phase after whipping Kazakhstan, 21-12, on Thursday at the OCBC Square in Singapore.

Camille Clarin led Gilas with nine points including the last three points of the game that forced the stoppage with only 10 seconds left in the supposed 10-minute match-up.

Mikka Cacho, Kaye Pingol, and Jhazmin Joson each added four points for Gilas, which beat Tahiti, 21-3, and the Maldives, 19-11, on Wednesday for a dominating headstart to their campaign.

Gilas Women is now grouped in Pool C along with well-known Asian 3x3 powerhouse Mongolia and Malaysia.

Gilas Women can now hope that Good Friday will be literally good for them as they will quickly swing back into action in the pool stages with primetime games against Mongolia (6:30 p.m.) and Malaysia (8:10 p.m.) awaiting them.

On the other hand, the Gilas men's team, automatically seeded into the main draw, will only see action on Saturday as they look to survive what looks like the "group of death", Pool C, with matches against Australia and Japan also happening in the evening.
