MANILA—Beau Belga got the last laugh over Zav Lucero and Allyn Bulanadi as Rain Or Shine stretched his streak in the PBA Philippine Cup to five straight wins after nipping NorthPort, 115-105, on Wednesday night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

In a game that saw Belga, Lucero, and Bulanadi all notching career highs, Belga walked away victorious as the Elasto Painters quickly raced to a huge lead which was enough to hold off the Batang Pier.

ROS caught NorthPort napping early on and opened a 22-3 lead nine minutes into the game, although NorthPort finished the first quarter on an 11-2 run to cut the lead down to 10, 24-14, at the end of the period.

The Elasto Painters tried to blow the game wide open again after beginning the second quarter on a 16-4 run for their largest lead at 22, 40-18, with less than seven minutes left in the period.

However, the Batang Pier slowly chipped the lead away and were within just four, 60-56, midway into the third quarter.

It turned out to be the closest NorthPort could draw within as ROS regained its rhythm and reasserted control of the game in the end.

Belga finished with 28 points, eclipsing his previous career high of 25 earlier in the conference, even as he came close to another triple-double with 13 rebounds and seven assists with two steals for the Elasto Painters, which moved up to 5-4.

Jhonard Clarito added 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block.

Lucero finished with 29 points, way better than his previous personal best of 18 also during an earlier game this Philippine Cup, seven rebounds, one assist, and two steals for the Batang Pier, which dropped their third straight game after a 4-1 start to fall to 4-4.

Bulanadi also posted a career-high with 26 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals as he and Lucero made up more than half of their team's total points.
