MAKATI--Echo staved off a solid Game 2 from Smart Omega to complete a 2-0 sweep of their best-of-three MPL Philippines Season 13 second-round match on Friday at the Shooting Gallery Studios.

After sealing the Game 1 win, Echo looked poised to reassert its dominance over Smart Omega, but returning jungler Andrew Flora's impressive game as Phoveus and Mark Florencio's surprise package of playing as Chip brought Omega just close to forcing a Game 3 after getting two Lord kills.

However, during the second Lord push, Echo wiped out Smart Omega, and Echo finished the game off by making the push through the middle lane.

With the win, Echo moved up to 6-3, momentarily breaking a tie with RSG Philippines, which will play Onic Philippines later Friday, for third place in the team standings.

Echo is now within 1.5 games of Onic PH and AP Bren for the top spot.

Smart Omega, on the other hand, dropped to last place at 1-8, but despite the loss, their Game 2 performance should give them some moral boost as they make one last push to the playoffs.
