Minana EVOS ends regular season with win vs. Omega

MAKATI - Minana EVOS finishes their MPL Philippines Season 13 on a high note as they squeak past a tough Smart Omega side 2-1 Sunday inside the Shooting Gallery Studios.

The White Tigers locked their 14-game regular season with 21 points and will enter the first round of the gauntlet stage against Blacklist International.

However, the Barangay had a different idea in Game 1, dealing a 15-2 beatdown of Minana EVOS as Andrew "Andoryuu" Flora's Guinevere scored two kills and 10 assists.

Jomari "Jowm" Pingol finishes the game with an 8/0/3 performance from his Claude, while John "Perkziva" Sumawan had a forgettable Game 1 with a 1/5/1 scoreline with the Kaja.

Perkziva bounced back in the second game as he led Minana EVOS with a 0/3/11 KDA from the Chou, while Jeniel "Haze" Bata-anon's Faramis had a stellar performance with two kills and a game-high 12 assists.

Jowm's Natan's 4/5/2 KDA is not enough to carry Omega this time as Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog's signature Khufra pick didn't make much difference with two kills and six assists while falling four times.

It took Minana EVOS almost 30 minutes to close the series in their favor, 21 to 17, with Jann Kirk "Kirk" Gutierrez leading the way with 2/1/14 KDA with an EXP lane Barats, and MPL debutant Kyle "Koyl" Reyes' Nolan tallied 6/2/9 and took three lords in the process, despite not getting a single turtle in the first 8 minutes.

Ch4knu's Mathilda gameplay made crucial saves but not enough as Andoryuuu's Martis received the most damage of all 10 players, and Nowee "Ryota" Macasa's Paquito falling six times in the process.

Smart Omega will exit the tournament meanwhile with three wins, 11 losses, and 11 points.
