QUEZON CITY—Burmese Ghouls kept their flickering hopes of making the M5 World Championship knockout stages alive after blanking Team Lilgun, 2-0, in a crucial Group C match-up on Tuesday at the EVM Convention Center.
BG drew first blood after dominating Lilgun in barely 12 minutes of play.
Game 2 lasted a little longer, but Lilgun's plan of going to counter BG's Game 1 Angela domination by drafting Angela too backfired as BG completed the sweep.
With the win, BG will now hope for AP Bren to beat both Lilgun and Team Flash by 2-0 sweeps to qualify for the knockout stages.
AP Bren returns to action on Wednesday night to battle Flash before taking on Lilgun on Thursday.
