BINAN--Biñan returned to its winning ways at home after drubbing College of St. Benilde, 67-46, in their PSL battle on Tuesday night at the Alonte Sports Arena.
Three nights after suffering its first loss of the season at San Juan, Biñan vented ire on CSB in its fourth homestand, holding the collegiate squad to its lowest output so far in the regional league.
Even without main men Marc Pingris, KG Canaleta, and Mac-Mac Cardona, Biñan turned to its defense to take down CSB, limiting them to just 10 points each in three quarters.
CSB's only bright spot offensively was in the second quarter, where the team scored 16 points, but Biñan went on a 24-10 third quarter to pull away for good.
Kenny Rocacurva led Biñan, now tied with San Juan in second place at 14-1, with 14 points, five rebounds, one steal, and one block.
Jimboy Estrada added 12 points, six rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
Allen Liwag grabbed 19 rebounds on top of eight points and three assists, but he too had six of CSB's 19 turnovers as the team failed to tie Davao Occidental in sixth place and fell to 9-5.
In the other games, Quezon dealt 1Munti a 90-50 beating, while MisOr ripped Indanan, 95-83.
The Quezon-1Munti game saw the latter gradually collapsing after keeping it close with the former in the first quarter.
Quezon went full throttle in the second half after outscoring 1Munti, 48-19.
Judel Fuentes fired 20 points on 6-of-9 shooting from three-point range, one rebound, and two assists, while Rodel Gravera added 15 points on 6-for-8 shooting including a perfect 2-for-2 from deep, four rebounds, and one steal for Quezon, which moved up to 12-2.
Ryusei Koga put up 16 points on five threes, five rebounds, four assists, and one steal for 1Munti, which fell 9-7.
