MANILA—The PBA is returning to the iconic Rizal Memorial Coliseum after four decades for its Saturday doubleheader.

The league announced on Tuesday that the game pitting surprisingly hot teams Blackwater and Terrafirma at 3 p.m. and Magnolia's Philippine Cup debut against slumping Converge at 6:15 p.m. will be held at the said 6,000-seater arena right at the heart of the sports complex of the same name at the corner of Taft Avenue and Pablo Ocampo Street here.

The Rizal Memorial Coliseum served as a secondary venue for the PBA games during its primitive years when the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City was not available then.

The league last played games at the RMC in 1982, although it returned to the entire sports complex when it hosted games at the nearby Ninoy Aquino Stadium during the late 2000s and early 2010s.

The PBA previously announced that games will be held again at the NAS beginning in April.

Both the RMC and NAS had huge makeovers within the past years and have since reopened for various domestic events like the PNVF Champions League and international tournaments like the Mobile Legends Bang Bang M5 World Championship.
