PBA: Ginebra romps ROS to force tie at top spot

MANILA--Ginebra used a second-half explosion to trip Rain Or Shine, 124-102, in their PBA Governors' Cup game on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Just up four at the half, the Gin Kings outscored the Elasto Painters, 66-48, in the final 24 minutes to pull away for good.

Justin Brownlee exploded for 40 points on 13-of-19 field goals including 5-of-6 on threes to lead Ginebra, which forced a three-way tie with ROS and San Miguel for the top spot in Group at 5-2.

"My teammates did a great job of finding me in open areas where I can knock down shots," said Brownlee, who also had 10 rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

Japeth Aguilar added 21 points, eight rebounds, three assists, one block, and two steals for the Gin Kings, who will clash with the Beermen on Sunday night with the winner taking solo first place in the group.

Aaron Fuller put up 28 points, 11 rebounds, one assist, and one steal for the Elasto Painters.
