MANILA--In a major shocker, Virtus Pro has recruited Andrew "Andoryuuu" Flora for the MLBB Midseason Cup.
Moonton confirmed on Saturday that Flora is listed in Virtus Pro's lineup for the MSC.
However, as fans began to speculate amid the uncertainties surrounding Smart Omega's future in MPL Philippines, people knowledgeable of the situation clarified that Flora is just a loaned player as a stand-in.
Flora will temporarily take over the jungler role for Zaur "Egoist" Magomadov, who will slide to a team analyst role.
Magomadov, who will only turn 16 this August, is not allowed to compete as the Esports World Cup, MSC's mother tournament, requires participants to be at least 18 years old.
Keeping their spots are Russian players Dmitry "Bober" Belyaev, Denis "BadKot" Bogomolov, Egor "Super Egorka" Bugaev, and Vladimir "Pluto" Misyurin.
Filipino Kenneth "FlySolo" Coloma will lead Virtus Pro as head coach.
Virtus Pro made it all the way to the grand finals of the MLBB Continental Championships Season 5 before getting swept by Team Spirit.
Despite settling for the silver, Virtus Pro still made it to the MSC, but the club needs to undergo the wildcard phase if it wants to join Team Spirit in the Round of 16.
