Racela-Less Tams Face Slumping Maroons; Eagles, Tigers Collide

By Ivan Saldajeno

Nash Racela will not be in the FEU bench as his Tamaraws will battle the UP Fighting Maroons in tomorrow's UAAP action at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The Tamaraws' head coach, who is also part of the Gilas Pilipinas coaching staff, left for Seville to join the national team for the FIBA World Cup there.

Racela will also not see action in FEU's next assignment against Adamson on September 3.

Assistant Coach Eric Gonzales will handle the coaching chores for the Tams during Racela's absence.

Racela will return to the FEU bench on September 7 as the team will take on UE in an important game with Final Four bearings.

At 8-2, FEU will try to strengthen its hold of the lead in the team standings and draw closer to a Final Four berth against UP at 2:00 PM.

Later in the day, Ateneo and UST look to boost their own bids for a spot in the playoffs as they entangle at 4:00 PM.

Women's basketball action will take place the morning before as NU and Ateneo will battle at 8:00 AM followed by the UE-La Salle game at 10:00 AM.
