Arvin Tolentino wins UAAP top freshie award

Arvin Tolentino bested his FIBA U18 3X3 teammates to capture the UAAP Rookie of the Year award after the elimination round.

The former San Beda Red Cub, who plays for the Ateneo Blue Eagles, garnered 40.2143 statistical points, topping fellow Blue Eagle Thirdy Ravena and De La Salle Green Archer Prince Rivero, who were with him and Kobe Paras in the said international competition.

Rivero finished second in the top freshman race with 28.5 statistical points.

Ravena struggled for most of the season and could only amass 18.4545 statistical points.

Tolentino, who was actually at the Top 10 at the end of the first round, averaged eight points and 5.6 rebounds this year, while Ravena only had 1.3 points and 1.6 rebounds.

Rivero, on the other hand, made 4.6 points and 4.2 rebounds this season for La Salle.
