NU quickly deposed UP, 66-51, to draw closer to clinching a UAAP men's basketball Final Four spot at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
After a low-scoring first half, the Bulldogs got their scoring touches going in the second half, while their stifling defense frustrated the Fighting Maroons all game long.
Alfred Aroga had another monster game with 18 points, ten rebounds, and three blocks for NU, whose win eliminated UST from playoff contention.
Mikee Reyes scored 13 points for UP, but he needed 17 attempts to do so.
