UST banked on a last-day surge to sweep the UAAP judo competitions on Sunday at the Blue Eagle Gym in Quezon City.

Rolan Llamas and Adrian Mercado sealed the Growling Tigers' 11th men's title after setting up an all-UST final in the under 66 kilogram category won by Llamas.

The 1-2 finish pushed UST to 45 points, enough to beat Ateneo, who finished with 43 points.

The Tigresses, on the other hand, got huge boosts in Annie Ramirez and Princess Lucman's wins in the under 63 kg and under 78 kg categories respectively to win their seventh women's title after amassing 42 points.

The Ateneo Lady Eagles, who surged ahead in the first day after scoring 30 points, could only make two points in Day 2.

This is the third time in the last four years UST won both the men's and the women's titles in the same season.

The Ateneo Blue Eaglets, however, stopped UST's bid for a treble after dominating the juniors division, 73-34.
