Greece proved too much for the Philippines as the European squad hacked out an 82-70 win at the continuation of the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Seville, Spain.
Despite Gilas' efforts to draw closer, the Greek team had found an answer to its opponent's run and cruised to its second straight win of the tournament. Gilas, on the other hand, suffered its second straight loss.
Giorgios Printezis led Greece with a game-high 25 points, eight rebounds, a steal, and a block. Giannis Bourousis added 12 points, ten rebounds, three steals, and three blocks.
Despite playing hurt for most of the game, Andray Blatche once again topped Gilas in scoring with 21 points along with 14 rebounds and three steals.
Junemar Fajardo played quality minutes as Blatche's backup and added ten points, seven rebounds, two blocks, and a steal.
Gary David, who did not see action against Croatia, made two points in seven minutes in his FIBA World Cup debut.
Gilas will battle Argentina next. The Argentinians lost against Croatia, 85-90, earlier in the day.
