Gilas Pilipinas moved up by three notches after the latest FIBA ranking was released.
Gilas got promoted to 31st place in the ranking this year from 34th spot last year after getting 27.8 points at the end of the FIBA World Cup.
Gilas' exploits in the FIBA World Cup helped the team gain the rank increase.
Gilas also placed fifth among the Asian teams in the new ranking.
USA, after winning the World Cup, remained on top of the ranking with 1,040 points.
Spain, despite a shock quarterfinal exit against France, stayed in second with 705 points.
The quarterfinal upset helped the Frenchmen barge to the Top 5 after garnering 360 points.
China remains as the top Asian nation despite not making the World Cup and dropping two spots to 14th this year.
Senegal got the biggest gain as went up by 11 spots to 30th place, overtaking Gilas, who beat the Senegalese squad in the World Cup.
On the other hand, Italy suffered the biggest blow in the latest FIBA ranking after slipping by 15 spots to 36th place.
