To start its buildup for the 2015 UFL Season, Kaya officially named Adam Reekie as its new coach.
In the official statement posted on Kaya's website, the 34-year-old Folkestand, England native obtains a United States Soccer Federation "A" coaching license, a USSF National Youth License, and a coaching certificate from the English Football Association.
Prior to his new designation, Reekie's was an assistant coach of Syracuse's women's soccer team for three years. He was also an assistant coach for the Canisius' men's team and the head coach of Louisburg's women's team. He also had a stint as a community coach of English side Charlton Athletic.
Reekie also had a playing career, playing for Louisburg from 2001-03 and Canisius in 2004.
Reekie will replace long-time coach David Perkovic as Kaya's chief tactician.
“I am excited to join Kaya FC at this time when football clubs play a key role in the development of Philippine football,” said Reekie in the official statement.
He later added, “This is a great opportunity for me to grow as a coach and experience the culture and football of the Philippines. I hope to bring what I have learnt from my time in England and the USA to Kaya FC and help them grow as a club and be successful on and off the pitch.”
