Late charities lift Archers over Tigers

By Ivan Saldajeno

Clutch free throws helped the De La Salle Green Archers push the UST Growling Tigers to the brink of elimination from UAAP Final Four contention with a 67-60 win at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Green Archers, who struggled all-season long last year, scored the game's last seven points all from the charity stripe to move to within a win of taking a Final Four berth.

They also held the Growling Tigers scoreless in the last 2:32 of the game and forced their opponents to crucial errors in the end.

UST should now hope that UP will make a huge upset of NU tomorrow to stay in contention for a Final Four spot. The Bulldogs and the Tigers will meet on Wednesday.
