Calvin Abueva delivered the winning play to cap a monster game in Alaska's 100-98 victory against Talk 'n Text in the nightcap of the PBA games at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Abueva hit the buzzer-beating teardrop that sealed a comeback by the Aces from 18 points down.
The Tropang Texters led, 75-57, late in the third quarter as they tried to pull away from a close game.
But a 30-8 run spanning the last two frames put Alaska up, 87-83, with six minutes left.
Talk 'n Text answered with a 7-2 run sparked by Kelly Williams to reclaim the lead, 90-89, with 3:52 remaining.
Five straight points from Cyrus Baguio put the Aces back up, 94-91.
But Ryan Reyes fired a triple to tie the game, 94-all.
Sonny Thoss scored inside to put Alaska up anew, 96-94.
But Reyes retaliated with a layup to equalize once again at 96 apiece.
After the Aces failed to score on the other end, Williams put the Texters back up with two free throws with 36.5 seconds to go.
But Abueva sank two charities of his own on the other end to knot the game again, 98-all, with 18.2 seconds left.
Jayson Castro tried to steal the win for Talk 'n Text as he drove to the basket for a layup.
But Jvee Casio stole the ball from him and passed the ball to Dondon Hontiveros, who found the streaking Abueva and dished the ball to him for the game-winner.
Abueva led the Aces with 26 points and 22 rebounds, while Hontiveros added 14.
Reyes scored 24 markers of his own to lead Talk 'n Text's offense.
