An early semifinals rematch will highlight the first day of the UAAP women's volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The defending champions Ateneo Lady Eagles will take on the NU Lady Bulldogs in the 4:00 PM match of of the opening day women's doubleheader which will also feature UST and UE battling earlier in the day.
The Lady Bulldogs, now minus Dindin Santiago and Mina Aganon, will try to avenge their loss to the Lady Eagles, which will flaunt a near-intact lineup with the addition of incoming rookie Bea De Leon, in last year's stepladder playoffs.
NU lost a twice-to-beat advantage and bowed down to Ateneo, which would go on to squander La Salle's thrice-to-beat edge in the finals to win its very first UAAP volleyball plum.
It will actually be a four-fight bill at the MOA Arena as the men's volleyball games will also start in the morning.
Last year's finalists NU and Ateneo will take on separate opponents.
The defending champions Bulldogs will face the Adamson Soaring Falcons at 8:00 AM followed by the match between the Blue Eagles and the FEU Tamaraws at 10:00 AM.
Action will then shift to the FilOil Flying V Arena, where FEU and UP tangle in the first women's game at 2:00 PM and La Salle will face UST at 4:00 PM.
