While his Ateneo Blue Eagles failed to make the UAAP Finals, Kiefer Ravena still considered his first UAAP  season MVP award a blessing.

"Any consolation is better than nothing. Blessing pa rin siya na binigay sa akin," said Ravena, whose team's main goal this season was to make the Finals.

The Blue Eagles, however, squandered a twice-to-beat advantage and lost to the NU Bulldogs in the Final Four, the second straight time that a top-seeded team got booted out of the semifinal round.

Ravena also said that it would have been better if Ateneo made the Finals despite calling his MVP plum special.

"I would rather play in the Finals, but it's something worth having," he continued while adding that he is willing to trade his MVP award for a championship.

About his offseason plans, Ravena said that he will take a rest, go back to his studies, and spend more time with his family.

However, he admitted that he is training alongside the PBA team Talk 'n Text Tropang Texters.

"It's just to improve myself," Ravena explained his move to practice with the pro basketball club, which serves as part of his preparations for the UniGames and the PCCL.

"Since wala pa kaming team practice, I asked my dad (Bong Ravena) if I can join their practice," Kiefer added.

However, he clarified that his decision to practice with the Texters will not change his mind as he already declared that he will play one more year at Ateneo.

"I'll still take my talents to Katipunan," Kiefer reaffirmed his decision to remain with the Blue Eagles.

A former member of the RP Youth Team, Ravena also said that he is open to joining the Gilas Cadets program.

Ravena, aside from winning the MVP honors, walked away as the biggest winner of the awarding ceremony as he amassed a total of seven awards while taking home a total of PHP280,000 in cash and a brand-new Mazda car as a bonus for being the MVP.
