Loyola beats Stallion in goal fest

Loyola hacked out a victory against Stallion in a high-scoring encounter, 6-4, in the final day of the group stages of the UFL FA League Cup at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila City.

Stallion opened up the scoring 32 minutes into the match as Jordan Mintah fired a goal from the middle.

But Freddy Gonzalez equalized just before halftime as he headed the ball to the target area.

It took 18 minutes before substitute Nguene Landy put Stallion up again.

But two Loyola goals in a span of five minutes put the club, 3-2.

O.J. Clarino then scored off a penalty after a Loyola player was whistled for handball inside the box, and the was tied again, 3-3.

But Phil Younghusband, who came off the bench for Loyola, responded with a goal of his own to put his team ahead anew.

Clarino kept Stallion in the game as he broke loose after a scramble and found the goal to tie the game again.

But Graham Caygill converted the go-ahead goal for Loyola at the 89th minute after getting the 50-50 ball and struck it home.

Stallion had one more chance to draw the match at stoppage time.

But Younghusband got the ball after the dispossession and sealed the win for Loyola with a goal off the counter.
