National University bucked a third set loss and trounced UST, 25-21, 28-26, 26-28, 25-12, to win its very first UAAP girls' volleyball title at the Adamson Gym in Manila City.
The win completed a 2-0 sweep of the best-of-three championship series for NU.

Jennifer Nierva put the exclamation point to the Lady Bullpups' win with an attack to cap a dominating fourth set that ended their frustrations after missing out at the title in the last two seasons.
"This is for the kids. We are just facilitating," NU coach Babes Castillo after winning the title.
Nierva won the best server award, while teammate Faith Nisperos was hailed as the season's MVP.
