UE needed five sets before trouncing Ateneo, 20-25, 25-20, 25-14, 18-25, 20-18, to win its 11th consecutive UAAP boys' volleyball title at the Adamson Gym in Manila City.
Ron Medalla gave the Pages the championship after spiking the ball hard, hitting the Blue Eaglets' Anthony Sarino, to get the match point.
UE, which won the series opener in another five-setter, thus completed a 14-0 sweep of the season.
“The players worked hard for this one. We are blessed to win another championship,” Coach Ruel Pascual said.
The Pages, however, will go for a 12-peat next season with a revamped lineup as nine of their players, including their starting six, will move up to the college ranks.
