Not even a stoppage of play can hinder Scottie Thompson from yet another impressive outing for the Perpetual Help Altas.
Thompson, a prime candidate for this year's MVP, went close to another triple-double as the Altas beat the CSB Blazers, 65-62, for solo third place in their NCAA game at the FilOil Flying V Arena that was halted due to power outage.
The brownout, mainly caused by stormy weather outside, prolonged the first quarter break by a few minutes.
But that did not stop Thompson from exploding for 20 points including the game-deciding layup in the last two minutes.
Thompson also had 12 rebounds, including the game-saving offensive board with five seconds left, and eight assists for the Altas, who nearly lost a double-digit edge but held on to move up to 11-6.
Mark Romero led the Blazers, who slipped to a tie for fourth place with idle JRU at 10-6, with 24 points.
