TNT turns back NLEX for first win

Talk 'n Text barged to the winning column after downing sister club NLEX, 103-81, at the resumption of the PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Despite a scare from the Road Warriors in the second quarter, the Tropang Texters took control from wire to wire to bounce back from their opening night defeat to Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

Jay Washington led Talk 'n Text with 19 points, while Kelly Williams added 18.

Jonas Villanueva also made 19 markers to pace NLEX, who finally had head coach Boyet Fernandez on the bench, in offense.

Fernandez was fresh from giving San Beda its fifth straight NCAA title on Wednesday.
