Warriors, Cobras begin quest for CESAFI title

By Dugout Philippines

The USC Warriors and the SWU Cobras will start their best-of-five CESAFI championship series on Monday at the Cebu City Coliseum in Cebu City.

Both the Warriors and the Cobras ended the elimination round with the two best records at 9-1 and 8-2 respectively.

USC dethroned the erstwhile champion UV, while SWU took down USJ-R in their respective Final Four ties.

The Warriors, coached by former PBA player Junthy Valenzuela, are looking to win their very first CESAFI title.

The Yayoy Alcoseba-mentored Cobras, on the other hand, will try to buck off the heartbreaks of last year's finals.

SWU led, 2-0, against UV in last year's titular showdown only to lose the next three and let the latter steal the championship.

Before the Warriors-Cobras game scheduled at 7:00 PM, the PCCL will officially kick off at the same venue as the Bacolod-based UNO-R Rams and the General Santos-based HTC Wildcats entangle in the VisMin qualifiers at 5:00 PM.
